Is ChatGPT Coming For Your Job?
By now, you've probably noticed that a lot of people are freaking out about OpenAI's latest chatbot, ChatGPT. Yes, it's trendy and cool and fun and scary and somewhat existential crisis-inducing, all at the same time. But we want to cut through the noise around ChatGPT and get to the point …
If you're a business leader, what you're probably wondering about ChatGPT and its AI-implications are:
- How useful is this really to me and my business?
- What does it mean for the future of my business? How could or should I use it, today and/or in the future?
- What does it mean for the future of my job and for the jobs of the people who work for me?
We won't pretend we have all the answers to those questions, but in the spirit of experimentation and sheer curiosity, we want to find out. So here's what we plan on doing -- for the next 3 months, we're going to use ChatGPT to help us conduct our work in as many ways as possible. Creating proposals, writing blog posts, drafting contracts, conducting interviews; if it's part of our job, we'll try it. After 3 months, we'll look back and try to answer the questions above, based on our personal experiences.
Will we get to good answers? We'll see, but it's certainly guaranteed to be an interesting ride. If you're as curious as we are, follow along and check back in for updates. We'd be happy to share our learnings with you as we go.
